Yag Tattoo Removal
Tattoo removal has evolved to the point that only one laser is required to remove all ink-colors. Aesthetics Clinic has the newest and most effective technology used today for laser removal. The laser removes tattoo ink using the energy of light. Our Lutronic Spectra™ laser removes inks by generating a variety of specific wavelengths of light that target different ink colors. Light passes into the skin and is absorbed by the ink. The rapid absorption of light energy causes the tattoo ink to break into tiny particles, which can then be removed by the body’s natural filtering systems. The laser can remove professional and amateur tattoos, and permanent cosmetic makeup.
On the average, professional tattoos require 6-8 treatments, while amateur tattoos require 4-5 treatments, all spaced approximately 6-8 weeks apart. The number of treatments depends on the amount, type, and color of ink used, and the depth of the ink in the skin.
Pain management during treatment:
Laser tattoo removal can be uncomfortable, but is tolerable in most cases. Clients report a sensation from the light-pulsed energy that is similar to the snap of a small rubber band. While many patients forego anesthesia altogether, some patients require a local anesthesia. Depending on the patient’s pain threshold, pre-treatment might include the application of an anesthetic cream 45 to 90 minutes prior to the laser treatment session. In very rare cases, if complete anesthesia is necessary, it can be administered locally by injections of lidocaine with epinephrine. Anecdotal reports, however, have noted that patients receiving anesthesia by local injection may require additional treatment as the injection causes mechanical edema, a spreading out of the tattoo ink. This makes it more difficult for the laser light to act on specific ink particles, so experts in the laser tattoo removal field caution against injecting anesthetic, as these injections may also increase the risk of scarring and/or additional treatment.
Following the treatment, the tattoo’s appearance may fade more than 96%, often erasing it completely. Results vary depending on the type of ink used in the tattoo, the depth of its application and the color. See before and after photos of Lutronic Spectra laser tattoo removal treatments.
Black and red inks respond most favorably to the treatment. Oranges and purples usually fade as well. Green, blue and turquoise inks are the most challenging to remove and additional treatments are needed to produce significant fading.
The laser provides maximum tattoo removal while leaving the surrounding skin unharmed. Occasionally, pinpoint bleeding may be associated with the treatment. Patients must be careful about sun exposure prior to, during, and after laser treatments due to risk of hypopigmentation (lightening) of the treated area. The cost of treatment varies according to the size of the area to be treated and will be determined by a laser technician during your complimentary consultation. Package pricing available: Save 15% on a package of 3 treatments; save 25% on a package of 6 or more treatments.

Spectra Yag Age Spot Removal (lentigos)
For this treatment we use the Lutronic Spectra Nd:Yag Laser. The light from the laser is absorbed by the pigmented lesion, and the unwanted pigment is then destroyed. This will either remove or lighten the lesion.
During the treatment, you may feel some heat and a stinging or a prickling sensation. When treating larger areas such as the face, a topical numbing cream is used to lessen the discomfort of the procedure. The spot(s) will become darker over the next couple of days and it will take an average of 10-14 days for spots to slough off. You can do everything that you would normally do, however the first few days, do not scrub or pick at the lesions. It is important not to pick at them because it will not allow the lesions to heal properly and will increase the risk of scarring. You absolutely must wear a good sunblock while allowing the entire sloughing process.
One or two treatments is usually enough to treat most lesions, but some deeper lesions may require more treatments. This procedure does not work for melasma and cannot be performed on tanned or colored skin.
